Crushed Limbs

Many factories today are essentially machine-run operations. They require little to no work by a person to do anything other than turn a machine on or off. These incredibly expensive machines can be amazingly productive but can also be very dangerous. They can be massive, as they are often hundreds of feet long with thousands of moving parts.

These machines can be incredible for the boost in production that they can give, but they also must be handled safely. They usually have massive parts that move very fast and with incredible amounts of force. A worker is greatly aided by these machines, but must be careful at the same time.

If a worker is not trained correctly or if the machine is inherently flawed and dangerous, then disastrous accidents can occur. Because the machines are so big and heavy, any accident is usually serious. If an employee has a hand stuck in the machine, it is very likely that the hand will be mangled or cut off. Worse, the person could be pulled into the machine and killed by the force.

Arms and legs are in danger with these machines because they will easily crush anything that comes in contact with them. The machines are very productive because they move so quickly and with such force, but that is also exactly what makes them lethal.
