Worker Saves Co-Worker

Posted on August 24th, 2009 No Comments

A road worker saved a fellow co-worker and friends life recently in New York after an out of control driver was driving straight at the two workers.  One of the workers noticed the approaching vehicle and pushed his friend out of the vehicles path.  In doing this,  the worker put himself in the path of the vehicle and was struck.  The worker suffered serious injuries to his leg from the accident.  After being taken to the hospital,  doctors had to amputate the leg because of the severity of the damage.

The worker who was shoved out of the way was still struck by the car and suffered a leg injury,  however the worker likely would have been killed had he not been pushed out of the vehicles path.

The driver that caused the accident was arrested shortly after hitting the workers.  It was discovered that the driver was high on crack at the time of the accident.

Accidents Can Occur Even in Offices

Posted on August 20th, 2009 1 Comment

Many workers believe that because they have an office job,  they are not exposed to risks or injury.   Falls down stairs are common in an office environment.  Injuries from tripping or losing footing are also common in the office.

Many injuries are also reported from accidents that occur while in the office kitchen or snack room.  Cuts from knives are common,  as well as other injuries that occur in the kitchen from slick floors.

No matter the type of accident or injury,  a worker deserves treatment if the injury was sustained over the course of a normal work day.

Fast Food Injuries Common

Posted on August 14th, 2009 1 Comment

Workers in the fast food industry are at risk for a variety of accidents in their day-to-day job requirements.  Accidents are common because of the demands that fast food places on its workers.

The fast food industry attempts to provide service as fast as possible.  This means that mistakes can occur more frequently while cooking or serving food.  Burns from oil or the grill are reported frequently.  Slip and fall injuries occur frequently too because of the fast-paced environment in the kitchen.
