Three contractors have been sent to the hospital following an accident at the Mowry natural gas well near Tuscarora Township in Juniata County. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.
Reports of the accident differ. According to initial scanner reports, an explosion caused the injury, while a spokesman for the company operating the well claimed that the accident was due to "forceful uplift in tubing," which caused tubing from the derrick to launch into the air.
Two workers were immediately taken to a local hospital, treated, and released. A third worker was taken later, and remains in the hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.
