Two workers injured in Pennsylvania workplace accident

Posted on June 25th, 2010 No Comments

Two workers were injured in a workplace accident at a natural gas well in Gaines Township on June 18.

The accident occurred at Ultra Resources after the two workers were having trouble with the equipment. The workers were airlifted to the hospital with broken ribs and head injuries. The worker that suffered a head injury was hit with a piece of equipment causing a skull laceration.

He was knocked unconscious for several minutes but regained consciousness before the emergency crews arrived. The cause of the blow-out that caused the injuries was  probably a build-up of pressure in the hammer union. The accident is currently under investigation.

Workplace accidents can cause serious injury to everyone involved, our thoughts are with the victims and their families.
