The cruise ship that toppled to one side after hitting a coral reef off the coast of Giglio has taken lives of six people and left many more injured. There are also 16 people that have not been accounted for, including two Americans.
One crew member suffered a broken leg in the accident and was not rescued for nearly 36 hours after the collision occurred. There were nearly 4,200 people on the cruise liner at the time.
Officials investigating the accident have stated that the captain of the boat may be to blame because he took the cruise liner on an unapproved course.
