Do I have to pay for workers’ compensation insurance?
No, you do not. Employers are required by the state of Pennsylvania to bear the cost of workers’ compensation insurance, and failure to do so is a prosecutable offense. It is important to note, however, that you may wish to purchase additional disability insurance, to provide benefits beyond those specified by the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Act in the event of an injury or illness that compels you to miss work for a prolonged period.
If you have sustained a work injury and have questions about the scope of benefits to which you may be entitled, share your story with the Pennsylvania workers’ compensation lawyers of Lowenthal & Abrams, P.C., at 215-329-3511.
